3453 West 32nd Avenue Denver, CO 80211 Sponsored by the Denver Area Music Teachers Association, the 9th Annual Spookathon is a non-competitive event in which students are invited to play “spooky” music (or any style they choose!) in costume in order to raise money and awareness for music scholarships.
Students may participate regardless of how much money they raise by downloading pledge sheets from the DAMTA website.
This is a fun performance that gives our students a way to reach out to the community with their music.
All money raised will be donated to the Marcia Mounsey Foundation.
Here’s the way it works: Students ask sponsors to make a pledge for 1) a public performance of a specially prepared piece at the Spookathon, 2) a number of practice sessions during the month of October, or 3) simply a general donation.
You can download registration forms and practice logs. This fundraiser offers a low-key incentive to learn music and benefit a good cause. Just bring the pledge forms along on Saturday, October 27th, or turn in practice logs to your teacher at your lesson just prior to Spookathon. Performance times will be designated as the event approaches.
